OUR ACTIVITIES

HOLIDAY GIFTS
Through donations from our generous community members, we were able to provide over 100 children with holiday gifts this year. We held an event for families to pick up their gifts along with wrapping paper and tape. The families were also able to pick up jackets, gloves and hats to help keep them warm.

GIRLS ON THE RUN 5K CHARITY
Girls on the Run chose us as their charity at their 5K end of season race. We were honored to be there accepting donations from all of the fabulous participants.

THANKSGIVING MEALS
Mid-Island Y JCC generously coordinated and donated Thanksgiving bags for our families. They also connected us with North Shore Synagogue who provided some of our families with delicious, hot meals.

SNEAKER DRIVE
Back to school shopping is a luxury that causes some families a lot of stress. Through donations, we bought 40 pairs of sneakers to help kids start their new year. Rather than their old shoes or hand-me-downs they may not have chosen, they received a brand new pair. A special thanks to the Six Dollar Sock Challenge for their generous donation of socks to compliment the sneakers.

FOOD DRIVE
We had a very successful food drive at Shoprite thanks to the wonderful contributions from our communities!

CARE PACKAGES
We have started sharing your generosity with those often seen at the Hicksville Train Station.

MOTHER'S DAY
PHOTO SHOOT
We were able to treat some of the mothers with a special photo shoot with their children.

TOILETRY DRIVE
With an Amazon Wishlist and a few drop off locations, we collected toiletries for 2 weeks in March. We collected over $2000 in toiletries and enough to last us for months. Big Thank you to Legislator Lafazan and Legislator Drucker for their partnership and help making this a huge success.
*Toiletries cannot be purchased with food stamps so this is an important drive and will be an ongoing event.

HOLIDAY
GIFTS
Through the generosity of our supporters we were able to distribute gifts and spread some holiday cheer!!

THANKSGIVING HOT MEALS
We purchased Boston Market gift cards and Cider Mill Thanksgiving gift baskets to be delivered to local residents. Children in our district made gift cards for each of the families.
Additionally, two local teens donated their B’Nai Mitzvah Project proceeds to feed the motel residents. Individual hot meals were provided by Fireside Caterers for each resident and delivered on Thanksgiving Day.

HALLOWEEN
GOODIE BAGS
Our children volunteers decorated bags for Halloween and then filled them with Halloween goodies!

BACKPACK DRIVE
Together with the John Theissen Foundation we raised money to provide each child with a backpack filed with school supplies for the year. Additionally each family was given a welcome basket filled with toiletries and Covid-19 products, masks and sanitizers.
